This Constitution explains how Bethel Baptist Church is organised and how its members and leaders are expected to live and serve together. It sets out who can become a member (those who trust in Jesus, have been baptised, show evidence of the Holy Spirit's work, and accept the church's beliefs), how people are received into and, if necessary, removed from membership, and how pastors, elders, and deacons are chosen, appointed, and overseen. It also describes how church and business meetings are conducted, how decisions are made, how the church approaches marriage and divorce in a pastoral, Bible-based way, and how any changes to the Constitution itself must be agreed by the members and the Old Baptist Union.
