Prayer for Healing
It never ceases to amaze me that the Son of God lived on earth for around 30 years and didn’t do anything out of the ordinary during that time [apart from Lk. 2:49]. But then it all started, all as a result of the Holy Spirit’s anointing,
Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through the whole countryside … everyone praised Him. He went to Nazareth where He had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue … and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it is written: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on Him. He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Jesus acknowledged His dependency on the Holy Spirit to perform the miraculous,
But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

Scripture and the Gospel writers acknowledged it,
One day Jesus was teaching … and the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick. Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat … So He said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.”
Luke 5:17-26
After Jesus ascended to heaven the disciples He left were behind locked doors for fear of the Jews (John 20:19). All this changed at Pentecost as,
all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit …
Acts 2:4
Shortly afterwards, 3,000 are added to the Church as a result of one sermon, (Acts 2:41), and a man who is lame from birth is miraculously healed, (Acts 3) and the Church quickly grew to over 5,000 people (Acts 4:4). Surely, if this is how the Church started off, it is the way we are meant to continue, so come Holy Spirit!

Heavenly Father, send Your Spirit upon Your Church that we might do the things that Jesus did, even those greater things that He promised so that Your Church be may built; that people may be saved; and that people may be healed, for His Name’s sake, Amen!
